Second day posting

As a summary on the second day we were instructed on how to establish a logical thinking and affirm  reliable sources of information so that we become confident in what we write or quote to our readers and audiences in whatever media we opt to persent our news.It all starts with the logical thinking as to what is the subject under discussion and find the reliable sources that can provide information by trailing the various links as we find them on the way and also the updated versions and finally settle on the current and the most reliable source.
The subject was interesting as it gives some insights on the subject under research on many parameters and that way provides some outlook from many angles on the subject under study. What is disturbing is sometimes the amount of available data that can be too much or less and you have the task of going around the subject that sometimes becomes tricky and unassuming.
Progressing on the assignments we tracked as to which is the fourth tallest mountain in Tanzania, what President Magufu;li spoke in Arusha by establishing the relevant quotes and the location of the Finnish Embassy in Tanzania. We also learnt the effective use of right click to get the news links by using the control F to get proper news source.
On the mountain we found the reports were not very clear as there was no authority on the sources and we had to seek some other knowledge as it was shown that the Luhombero mountain in Iringa was the fourth by having 2596 metres but after scrutiny the Oldonyo L'engai emerged the fourth by having 3188 metres since the mountrain is active and thus growing; the authorities have failed to update the data.
On President Magufuli we failed to get the exact quotes because he spoke in Kiswahili and the internet sources through Global Publishers proved defective by having poor translations and thus unreliable. We opted to leave the attempt and when tutor tried the Custom Range it failed to deliver.
The Finnish embassy location we failed to get as it was deliberately removed in the net for obvious reasons  on as anti terrorism measure but we failed to get it even at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dar es Salaam website. We did not search from Helsinki Ministry that was a grave mistake! On assignment of the population of Finland it was a straight forward job and quite up to date to the hour.
